ASSIGNMENT
Design an A3 chart with an overview of all the
assignments you worked on in the past semester.
This map is a printed interface: a visual guide to
your work during the integral evaluation.

STEPS
1 – Make a list of all the assignments.
2 – Select at least one image per item
3 – Visually organise these items based on criteria that you consider relevant, for example:
– subject (vak)
– level of difficulty
– duration
– level of fun / pleasure / hatred
– topics (keywords / tags)
– …
4 – Design a key (legenda) for your map

TECHNIQUE
Digital, analogue or a combination of both.

You choose.

Keep it really simple.

ASSIGNMENT
Read Bruce Mau’s An Incomplete Manifesto for Growth and choose one of the manifesto items (one item per student) You can download the manifesto as a text file here.

Using the text you selected, design a short typographic animation of max 15 seconds. The animation should enhance the meaning of the text and give extra strength to the words you judge more important.

4 APRIL

DELIVERY SPECIFICATIONS
– Size: 768×576 (DV PAL / Square pixels)
– 25 frames per seconds
– Render settings: Best settings / Lossless

RULES
- Use typography only – no images or video footage
- Use one typeface and one weight only
(choose for regular OR bold OR italic, for instance)
- Animate using Adobe After Effects or Flash

TIPS
- Watch TV, play videogames, watch movie previews:
there is animated type (good and bad) everywhere
- Experiment with audio and notice how small sound
effects can influence the typography
- Be careful with small type sizes
- Don’t forget the title safe area

default is *not* a preference: find a suitable template for your weblog (go to dashboard / presentation / themes)
if the template you chose template allows for a custom header, design and upload a logo or header for your weblog (go to dashboard / presentation / custom image header)
